I started a while ago a special play list at my YouTube channel SACReleases, which showcases over 400 videos (as of now and growing) related to the demo and art scenes already, to highlight the best demos across all computer platforms over the past 18 years.?? I called it the ???Demoscene Marvels???, because I think that those productions are indeed marvels that should not be forgotten. The first production in my marvels list is from 1991 and the latest on from 2009. ?? If you thought that the old 8bit and 16bit classics are dead, think again! The last demo from the Commodore 64 in my marvels list is from 2007 and the last Commodore Amiga production in this list is from this year. Surprised? Demo Marvels Play List at YouTube.com The list includes 69 videos as of today, representing 61 different demos and intros from the Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, MS DOS PC and Windows 32bit. The list is useful for oldskool demosceners who might have missed a few productions over the years and also for newbie???s to the subject, who would like to get a picture of the productions that were created by scenes around the world for the simple reason that they can. I listed the productions in chronological order that you are able to see the progression and advancements made by the demo scene over the years. List of Demos (Chronologically) Hardwired by The Silents (TSL) & Crionics for Commodore Amiga (1991) Unreal by Future Crew[…]

I guess it is time again for another collection of mine. I was able to put the new Version 2.0 of my scene release creator batch script to good use again. It was a breeze to get it ready with this new and enhanced version of it. You should check it out as well. This collection is a bit different and some of the hard core purist sceners will probably have something to bitch about it, like that you can only appreciate things, if you use the original software on the original hardware. Screw them. To show younger folks how things looked back in the days, before many of the kids were even born, then you have to provide the means to access the stuff with the current technology. If they got a taste of things and like it, then they can still go through the extra length, accept the extra cost and additional time that it takes to be authentic. Why should they do that without even knowing what they can expect in return for those extra efforts? Okay, here it comes … a Collection of Amiga & C64 Crack Intro Remakes for Win32 & Flash Enjoy 430 Win32 Remakes of Commodore Amiga and Commodore 64 cracktros created by the folks from the web site/project called Retro-Remakes.net Also enjoy 608 SWF Flash Remakes of Commodore Amiga cracktros that were re-created by the folks at Flashtro.com using the widely support Adobe’s Shockwave technology, which your browser should support to play[…]

Two more scene art releases are coming your way. All in all about 1 GB of data for you to download and spread to FTP servers, old-school bulletin board systems and share with friends and other sceners and/or graphic artists who are able to appreciate what they are looking at. The first release is actually an update, a major one though. Scene Pixel Art Logos Collection V2.0 Version one was released only about two months ago, but I added so many more to my collection that I thought that a version 2.0 release does not hurt. Over 9000 Images for over 1600 Groups, BBS, Demos and more from the Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST and PC Demo- and Warez Scenes. Welcome to the Scene Logo Collection Version 2.0 brought to you by RoySAC.com. The collection contains thousands of logos for groups, demos, bulletin board systems, web sites and individuals from all the major scene platforms, including Windows PC (Super VGA, Hi-Res), old MS DOS standard VGA PCs (320×200 256 Colors), Commodore Amiga’s (32 Colors), Commodore 64s (8Bit), Apple II’s (8Bit), CPC’s (8Bit), Atari 8Bit Home Computers, Atari ST’s and Atari Falcons. There are a lot of duplicates, which I am working on constantly eliminating (or at least reducing). It is not that easy, because it is not always clear, which is the best or authentic original to keep and which version to delete (once you detected a duplicate visually, which by itself takes already a lot of time). If I[…]

In response to my videos about the Berlin Wall (like this one on Vimeo.com) or when people who I meet in person learn that I grew up in the former East-Berlin (the communist part of the city), they often ask me about my own personal experiences and feelings that I had. Specifically when it comes to the time when I was 15 years old and from when the Wall fell on November 9, 1989 until the reunion of the two German segments on October 3, 1990; a time that was emotionally and turbulent with new events unfolding rapidly, like a land slide or avalanche. Notes and Clarifications I posted pretty much the same stuff as comments to a previous blog post of mine, but thought to myself that it actually warrants the creation of an individual post just dedicated to this. I also posted already the publicly known historic facts of the events. This one is personal and I tried to recall what I thought at that time and what happened from my own perspective as good and accurate as I can. It has been almost 20 years since they actually occurred, so some of the details of my memories could be flawed and incorrect (that is not because I intended that, but because it is a ???human flaw??? when it comes to ???storing??? and ???cataloging??? personal long term memories. Flashback Start I personally was surprised by the events that unfolded. I did not realize what happened in the night[…]

The Berlin Wall – August 13, 1961 to November 9, 1989

I wrote in the past already two blog posts about the subject of the “Berlin Wall“, which accompanied videos that I created using moving and photographic images from those historic events. See The Berlin Wall – History Lessons Learned and The Berlin Wall and the Walls Between Us I created four versions of my “Berlin Wall” documentary already and also another short video that only depicts the events from 1989 that lead to the collapse of the East German regime. I am still not happy with the last version of it and still work on a version 5 of it. I gathered a lot more video material and found better quality sources for video images that I already used in the previous installments of my documentary. Also See Version 4 of my Video “The Berlin Wall – Lessons Learned” at Archive.org Special Video “Moments in History – The Fall of the Berlin Wall 1989” at Archive.org I also gathered some more historic facts and created a time-line for me to guide myself in my project. I came to the conclusion that it probably makes the most sense, if I split up the documentary into multiple segments, rather than creating one long video as I did for Version 4 (which is over 30 minutes in length). I am still undecided, how I am going to present the facts from the time line below; written narration or voice overs where I record myself and talk about those facts. An audio narration is[…]
