While I am in Las Vegas to DefCon 15 in less than two weeks, will I also use my time in Vegas to watch the Cirque Du Soleil shows, which I have not seen yet. First show on my list is Cirque du Soleil – The Beatles Love – at The Mirage on Friday. The online reservation system was a pain in the neck and did not work. I had to order the tickets over the phone eventually. They are lucky that I am a hard core fan of the Cirque to jump through all those hoops to get my ticket. Cirque Du Soleil – “Love” Video What’s Left?I tried to get a ticket for the Cirque du Soleil show ??? “Zumanity” at the New York, New York Hotel and Casino. Its a Cirque show with sexual flavor, but that did not work out the way I wanted it to. So, that means that I will not be able to see “Zumanity” when I am in Vegas. They have vacation that week(end). After “Love” will only be “Zumanity” and the new Cirque show “Kooza” be missing on my list of shows to see. Then I got them all. I booked already a ticket for Kooza, when the show will be in San Francisco, CA in November, later this year. Here is a little teaser for the new show. I knew about the Pregame show of Cirque Du Soleil for the XLI Super Bowl on February, 4th 2007 between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts in Miami Florida, but somehow managed to miss it anyway. I am German and not a fan of american Football so I did not really care for the game. I was occupied with other things and before I knew it was it too late. Darn. God bless the Internet. I was able to find a video of the Show and would like to share it with you. Here it is. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/v/r3k3KnzBr_Q&rel=1 While I was digging for the video of the Super Bowl pregame show, did I stumble across the Gala Video of the Cirque Du Soleil production “The Beatles??? LOVE” which is currently running at the MGM Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. LOVE is one of the two shows of the Cirque, which I have not seen yet. The Second one is Zumanity. While Zumanity breaks new grounds for the Cirque in regards to Sex and Erotic, does LOVE break new ground or is it old ground? Well the “mushroom heads” were popular in the sixteens when there was no Cirque. Well, the following Video gives you a glimpse of the show and it’s style. It seems to be a great show for old school fans of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Star as well as for new school Cirque Du Soleil fans like me. Enjoy[…]

I was busy at the Affiliate Summit conference and expo which was held this Sunday to Tuesday (yesterday) in Las Vegas, Nevada. I decided not to return to Fresno on Tuesday already, but stay the night and enjoy a show. That was not as easy than I thought, because every Cirque Du Soleil show except one was not running. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday seem to be the “Weekend” for most shows, giving the performers a break from their performances.Myst??re was on at the Treasure Island hotel and casino, which is one of the shows I have not seen yet (pfeuh). I got the best ticket I could get for $104,50, which placed me right in the center in the 6th Row, nice.I was obviously not the only one from the Summit that decided to enjoy themselves, because only a few rows behind me was sitting a well known Affiliate Manager from the Summit. The show was nice, but nothing spectacular. It was not a surprise for me, because I have seen most of the acts already at the Solstrom TV Series. I liked the Music a lot though. Here is the Myst??re Trailer directly from the Cirque du Soleil website. I also saw for the first time a performer “slip”, literally. The performer of the final routine of the Aerial High Bar missed the performer on the swing below him and dropped. This was a reminder why there is a safety net underneath the structure which is located 40 feet above[…]

It is no secret that I am a big Cirque Du Soleil fan. The first show I saw was the inoffical show from Dragone called Le Reve, which is currently shown at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Casino. It is to this day my favorite Cirque Show to date. I have seen all but three alright which are Zumanity, Mystere and Love. And it will be 4 shows I have not seen in April this year. Why? That’s Why. I play again with the Idea to hop over to Montreal/Canada on a weekend in April or May to see it. I had the ticket, opening week (day 3 or 4), last front-row seat in my basket. But it knew that I could not go, because Canada is not part of the United States (yet) and I have currently no travel documents thus can leave but not get back in to go home (It is as ridiculis as it sounds, trust me). Well things changed a bit. The situation still sucks, but it seems that I will be able to get travel documents again at the end of March, beginning of April. Mhh.. What did “The Clash” say? …. “should I stay or should I go?” I am undecided. While I am thinking about it, check out this video which I found at YouTube.com. It uis about 9 minutes long and shows several scenes from the show. It also introduces each of the main theme songs. Did I mention that[…]

Cirque Du Soleil Extravaganza

I just had my first “real” weekend in months. I left Friday afternoon to Las Vegas to have fun (and not to a trade show). I stayed at the “Aladdin” Hotel and Casino which is currently under construction, because it is being transformed to a Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. I watched two Cirque Du Soleil shows, the two which were the highest on my “have to see” list. One on Friday and the other one on Saturday. I had already a ticket for Cirque Du Soleil’s “KA” at the MGM Grand for Saturday. I decided last minute to try to get a ticket for Cirque Du Soleil’s “O” at the Bellagio on Friday. You can see the “O” Trailer for the show at the official Cirque Du Soleil Website. I was lucky. I got there 1 Minute before the show started and got a ticket because somebody else did not showed up (the show was sold out). I got for $150 a premium seat in Row F (6) right in the center of the row, quite a bargain. Next on my list are “Mystere”, “Zumanity” and “Love” If you are going to see “KA”, try to get seats in the center of the venue and not towards the side, trust me on that. I was sitting at a “medium” quality seat more towards the side. I might have to watch it again from a center seat. Great show! I can highly recommend it. Here are 3 Videos from the[…]
