Search for ANSI and ASCII Artists and Bloggers

Except for some activities at deviantART was I not successful after over one year of searching to find much (if any) other blogs that are related to the old ANSI and ASCII underground artscene. Fellow artists who created ASCII art for group NFO files, File_ID.diz or ANSI art for BBS Layouts and Login pictures and logos back in the early to mid 1990’s. It’s sad and frustrating. The lack of community makes me spin off with my blog into other subjects, such as deviantART, Wikipedia and Cirque Du Soleil (or Internet Marketing and in a few cases about video games). I also was writing about internet video and music. Nice stuff, but not text art related. I recenty created a new “Demoscene and Text Art Community” over at BUMPzee! BUMPzee! is a blogger community / feed reader / networking site with some Digg features. I added another blog to the community, which I found at Blogspot, but that blog does not see much activity anymore either. Where are you guys (and few girls) of the text art scene, demo scene and BBS warez scene? Nobody blogging? Nobody writing about things that were forgotten by most people and never learned by todays youth? Come on over and contact me and join the community. Cheers!Carsten aka Roy/SAC

I know that this post is a bit off topic and I promise that it will not be like it was between May and July 2006. I made a post at Search Engine Journal yesterday that causes quite some misunderstanding and a discussion that did not have much to do with the original post. That lead to an edit of the post which is available here and includes an Edit Note that points to the original post and comments at my family website. You can find the original post and comments here. The family site does not allow any comments so I post this article here at my Roy/SAC blog for the purpose of providing the ability to have people comment or ask questions to go deeper into the subject. So feel free to add your comments regarding the original post and comments that are about the issue with Nazi-Germany and the Holocaust here. If your comment is about the issue with Google, nofollow and Affiliate Marketing, please comment at the current post at Search Engine Journal. Thanks.

I had my first anniversary 11 days ago on February 3rd, 2006. Anniversary, huh? Yeah! This might be not so important to you, but it is, or should be (at least) be for me. Gee, if I forget something like this, what about wedding anniversaries one day. My future wife is going to kill me. Well, I am safe today, since I am not married. I am single, busy single single = no girl friend. No valentines day gifts to forget. Yeah, it’s today, Valentines Day. You forgot that? I guess you have a wife, fianc?? or other long term relationship. You would have remembered otherwise hehe.Okay, now jokes aside. Ten days ago was my 1st Blogger anniversary. That’s right, One year and ten days ago did I setup my first blog and posted my first blog entry, EVER!The first blog was this one and it started out as a blog on the blogger.com domain. It moved on the same month to Cumbrowski.com/RoySAC/Blog and in August 2006 to it current location at RoySAC.com/blog.The Blog got temporarily “hijacked”, metaphorical speaking, during the summer last year, when a business issue made me “abuse” my private art related blog (in a broader sense) to discuss issues that are as far off topic as a pork chops recipe on a Islamic or Jewish orthodox blog (conservative and reformed too for that matter, but that’s not the point).I got it back in July and moved my business related blogging to ReveNews.com, a blog dedicated to[…]

Quick News. I moved my Blog from Cumbrowski.com to the new RoySAC.com domain (where I moved already all my pages about ANSI and ASCII Text art to less than 2 weeks ago). The new Blog URL is http://www.RoySAC.com/blogThe Feedburner Feed URL did not change. Also all existing Links to the Old Address should work without problem. I 301-redirected everything from the old address to the new one. While I was moving the Blog, did I add the option to subscribe to my Blog via Email as little form in the upper right hand corner of my Blog. The old FeedBlitz subscriptions should continue to work in the near future, but I would suggest you sign up again at my blog and unsubscribe from FeedBlitz, just in case.If you notice anything weird, let me know. Cheers!

If you are a frequent reader of my blog then you noticed that over the last months the mix of topics that I covered with my posts increased. Some might even got a bit disturbed by this.My blog was over the last few months “hijacked” by Internet and Search Engine Marketing related topics. The posts about ANSI and ASCII Text Art, Scene Art, the Demoscene, Wikipedia and deviantArt suddenly became a second priority.Hey this Blog is supposed to be about the art and the fun stuff and not business.I have good new though. All the business related stuff, or at least most of it, will not continue here because it found a new home.I am a Blogger at ReveNews.com since July 2006 because of a personal invitation by Wayne Porter, who is one of the co-founders of ReveNews.com.The invitation to blog at ReveNews, which is a well respected News Source in the Internet Marketing Industry and Winner of the Marketing Sherpa “Best Blog” Award in 2006, was a great honor for me and I really appreciated it. Visit my Blog at ReveNews.com and join the discussions.Cheers,Carsten aka Roy/SAC
